Clyde Austin

Mr. Clyde Austin age 90 of 5534 S. NC Hwy. 62 Burlington transitioned from labor to reward on October 21, 2023, at AuthoraCare Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell, Burlington, NC.  Mr. Austin is the son of Mr. Willie Austin and Mrs. Fannie Troxler Austin born February 24, 1933, in Alamance County.

Mr. Austin was educated in the Alamance County School System, then he was called to serve his Country in the United States Army, receiving a Honorable discharge.  Mr. Austin was married to the lovely, Mrs. Adlene Burnette Austin until her death in 1999.  Clyde was a hardworking man, supporting his family with many jobs down through the years, EM Holt Elementary School, Burlington Industries, Construction and Landscaping Jobs such to name a few.  He was a faithful member of Springdale AME Church where he served as a Trustee.  Clyde enjoyed hunting, gardening and woodworking.

His life and legacy will be forever cherished by his children, Susan Compton, Clyde Willie Austin (Tonya), Dwight Douglas Austin and Caroline S. Austin; one brother, Clarence Austin; two grandchildren, Jacob Douglas Austin, and Carlie Grace Austin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.  Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Fannie Austin, his wife Adlene B. Austin and siblings, William “Noodle” Austin, Johnnie “Toe” Austin, Lessie Mae Austin Noble and Alice Austin Patterson.
