Charlene Gail (Rakes) Oakley

Mrs. Charlene Gail Rakes Oakley transitioned from labor to reward on March 28, 2021 at the UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill,NC.  Charlene was born August 15, 1965 in Alamance County to Mrs. Carolyn Flynn Rakes and Mr. Arlen Rakes.

Charlene was married to the love of her life, Mr. James Allen Oakley.  She worked as a property manager until her failing health would no longer allow her to work.  Charlene loved to read and write poetry and stories, she often talked about writing a book one day.  She enjoyed fishing, cooking and especially baking chocolate pies.  Charlene was an animal lover, especially when it came to her little Ziah.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Her life and legacy will be forever cherished in the heart of her husband, James Allen Oakley; her mother, Carolyn Rakes; one brother, Timothy Rakes (Debbie); two stepdaughters, Jacqueline Foust and Sherandolyn Oakley; two step grandchildren and one step great grand; one uncle, Donald Lee McGhee; one niece, Tina Rakes; two brother-in-laws, Rickey Oakley (Wanda) and Charles Oakley along with many friends.
