Catherine (Browning) Rudd

Mrs. Catherine Browning Rudd was born to Thomas Chavis Browning and Georgia S. Miles Browning on April 16, 1930 in Alamance County.  She was a graduate of Pleasant Grove Union High School with the graduating class of 1949.  For many years she was an employee of the Office Economic Opportunity.  She married Melvin Rudd and, she and "Ray" were blessed with two children Mary and James. She was a life-long member of Miles Chapel Baptist Church.  She served where ever her assistance was needed. She especially enjoyed attending Sunday School.  Civically, she was a member of the NAACP and the Order of the Eastern Star.  

She leaves loving memories to her daughter: Mary Rudd Robinson (Michael); three grandchildren: Allana R. Woods (Charles), Rayna Robinson and Rene Robinson; one great-grandchild; sister: Carlene B. Woods; two sisters-in law: Delois R. Wiley and Hazel R. Ellison as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin "Ray" Rudd, her son: James Melvin Rudd; and a brother: Wilbur Browning and his wife Pearlie Love Browning.
