Carl Warren Lea

Carl Warren Lea was born on April 9, 1927 in Alamance County, North Carolina to Willie Banks Lea and Adeline Lee Lea.  Following his mother's passing during his birth, he was reared by his mother's sister Mrs. Ollie Mae Lee Chandler.  Carl was a graduate of Jordan-Sellars High School and eventually moved to Washington DC and began a vibrant career with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.  He was an honorably discharged United States Army Veteran.

Carl was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who would give his last in order to see that others needs were met.  He loved going to the drag races and was a die-hard Washington Redskins (Commanders).  He was a great cook and loved to entertain his family and friends.  His kind and giving heart will be forever missed.  

He leaves loving and lasting memories to his devoted daughters: Estralita Lea Rogers and Alma Lea; three grandchildren: Chinita Parker, Dwann Lea and James Holloway, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren: Calvin Lea, Marcus Parker, Duane Ashmon, Kourtnei Ashmon, Cameron Johnson, Rhyan Johnson, McKenzie Whitley and Jatasia Whitted and 5 great-great-grandchildren.  Carl leaves loving memories to his nieces and nephews other relatives and dear friends. 

On March 26, 2023 Carl while surrounded by his loving daughters and grandchildren, he passed away into eternal life.  With his passing a deep void was left however, we are confident in knowing that he is resting with his daughter Patricia Lea Couch, his parents: Willie B. Lea and Adeline Lee Lea and his aunt, Mrs. Ollie Mae Lee Chandler as well as all his siblings: Lloyd Banks Lea, Lawson Lea, Ervin Lea, Hymon Lea, Wallace Lea, Edward Lea, Emma Jane Saunders, Hollie Lea, Wilma Lea, Hazel Lea Lane and his first cousins/siblings: Margretta Chandler Evans, Shellie Chandler, Eddie Chandler and Herman Chandler.
