Mrs. Betty Jean Foust Vanhook of 208 North St. Mebane, NC transitioned on March 6, 2022 from labor here on Earth to her reward in Heaven. Betty was born in Alamance County, NC on March 29, 1942 to Mr. & Mrs. James Edward and Louise Trollinger Foust. She was one of four children and the longest survivor of this union.
Mrs. Betty was educated in the Alamance County School System, graduating from Central High School in Graham, NC. Professionally she worked in the Textile Industry for such places as Dixie Yarn. Mrs. Betty was a fun and joyous person, a woman of faith which lead her to worship at Johnson Chapel AME Church in Mebane, NC. At Johnson Chapel, Mrs. Betty served as an Usher and Usher Board President, her culinary skills were enjoyed by all as she was a member of the kitchen committee, preparing wonderful dishes for the congregation as she did for her own family. Betty also loved to shop, and she did it well.
Her life and now legacy will be forever cherished by her loving husband, William Edward Vanhook of the home, one son, Bruce Vanhook; two daughters, Sharon Foust and Vickey V. Manuel (Orlander); Eight grandchildren, Melvin, Daniell, Daniel, Brittany, Maurice, Jalen, Ashley and DeOndre'; 13 great grandchildren; one uncle, Kermit Trollinger and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Julia LaVein Vanhook and siblings, Ronald Foust, Donald Foust and Sylvia "Nookie" Foust Graves.
