Betty Gay (Deramus) Jenkins

Mrs. Betty Gay Deramus Jenkins 77, of 2307 Atlanta St. Greensboro, NC transitioned peacefully on October 8, 2023, at Guildford Heatlh Care Center in Greensboro, NC. Betty was born to George Garry Deramus and Rosa Belle Chestnut Deramus on October 8, 1946.

Betty was employed with AT&T and retired on December 7, 1991 after 23 years of service.  

She relocated to Greensboro in 2016 and became a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Greensboro until her health would no longer allow her to attend. She was a faithful follower of the Lord until her death and was never ashamed to talk about her love for Jesus Christ.  When she was able she served as a Missionary, a member of the Senior Choir and Usher Board. A dedicated mother of three, grandmother of six and great grandmother of six, spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Damon Jenkins (Wallica), Dominic Jenkins; six grandchildren, Tatianna Jenkins, Corey Jenkins, Von Jenkins, Mya Jenkins, Monet Jenkins, Malia Jenkins; six great grandchildren along with a niece, Sophia Coatney, friends, Della Yeadon, Nancy Charles and Sondra Boyd.  A special thanks to her cousins who were important in her life when she relocated to Greensboro and during her illness, Edith Campbell, Olanda Jeffries, Anne Janell and Victoria Harrison

Betty was preceded in death by her son Vincent Denorris Deramus, her parents George and Rosa Bell Deramus and one sister, Sally Jean Deramus Coatney.
