The beautiful life of Betty Jean Foust Carter began on February 2, 1937 in Alamance County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Adell Alice Compton and was a 1955 graduate of Graham High School. She was the devoted wife of 62 years to Mr. William B. Carter, Sr. “Butch”, who passed way March 30, 2019.
Betty retired from US Department of Defense as Contract Administrator. Spiritually, she was a faithful member of Maxwell Chapel AME Church. She served with the Senior Choir, Trustee’s Board, Kitchen Committee, Usher’s ministry and founder of Willing Worker’s.
She leaves loving and lasting memories to her two children, Bernadette Carter Dove (James) of Dudley, NC and William Bernard Carter Jr.(Roxie) of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren: Brooke Dove of Burlington, NC Jamison Dove of Dudley, NC, Chase and Tyson Carter of Orlando Florida; one great grandchild Kaiden Dove of Burlington, NC; and a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents she was proceeded in death by a sister Virginia Vincent.
