Barbara Ann (Miles) Gordon

Whereas God, in His Divine Wisdom called from labor to reward and elevated to a heavenly home, the soul of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mrs. Barbara Ann Miles Gordon on Friday, October 13, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on December 9, 1940, to the late Myrtle E. Miles in Caswell County, NC. She graduated from the Caswell County Training School in 1961 and joined Stoney Creek AME Church at an early age. She was a faithful member and attended up until her health started to decline. She was a dedicated Manager for Manufacturers Hanover Trust until retirement. She was an extremely loving mother and grandmother; she even called her nieces and nephews her children. She would drive all over the country to ensure her family had everything they needed.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Mr. Llewellyn “Lee” Miles of Brooklyn, NY and Mr. Rodney D. Miles of New Port News, VA; two daughters, Miss Sara L. Miles and Ms. Marilyn L. Wright, both of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, Mr. Junior B. Miles (Virginia) of Graham, NC; one uncle, Mr. Shirley Miles of Burlington, NC; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her most beloved pet, her dog, Sissy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ivory Gordon; one brother, Mr. Robert L. Miles; and two sisters, Ms. Mary E. Bunn and Miss Caroline J. Miles.
