Mrs. Annie Mae Nixon Moore of Burlington departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Lakewood of Twin Lakes. Born in Alamance County, she was the daughter of William Nixon and Mamie Cook Nixon, both deceased. She was the wife of the late Carl Moore.
Mrs. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church on Apple Street. She served as advisor to the Junior Usher Board and she also served as a Girl Scout leader who accompanied the young girl scouts on overnight camping trips. She attended Sunday School regularly.
She was a graduate of Jordan Sellars High School and Maco Beauty College. She was a licensed beautician and a member of the Alamance County Beauticians Club. She was also a very dedicated member of the Pioneer Garden Club.
Mrs. Moore is survived by four grandchildren; Dwight Nixon of Mebane, Vangeline McCoy of Charlotte, Tabitha Poole of Burlington, and Dealdria S. Parks of Greensboro; eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Vander Earl Nixon and a daughter, Linda Carol Moore Lea; and sisters, Ola N. Staton, Ersell N. Harris, Warnie N. Carter, Helen N. McCollum, and Christine N. Vaughn.
