Alice (Thompson) Little

On Saturday, August 12, 1933, Hiawatha and Annie Jane Freeland Thompson were blessed with an addition to their growing family with the birth of a daughter, who they named Alice.

Alice was educated in the segregated school system of Alamance County and was a 1951 graduate of Graham High School, Graham, North Carolina. Following her graduation, she enrolled at Livingstone College, Salisbury, North Carolina. In 1955, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She began a vibrant career as an educator, first with the Alamance School System and subsequently retired following 28 years of dedicated service to the students of Caswell County School System.

Mrs. Little married Robert (Bobby) Taft Little and the two shared twenty-two years of loving bliss. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Missionary Church of Graham, North Carolina where she served with the Missionaries and the Ushers Ministry, as well as church clerk and member of Women of Destiny. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bobby) Taft Little and brother, Arthur June Thompson; three sisters, Ruth Thompson Albright, Betty Thompson Rogers, and Mattie Thompson Coombs.  

Remembering her with love and devotion are her siblings: H.T. Thompson (Laura), Sara Thompson Davis, and Dr. John Thompson (Yvonne); sister-in-law: Hazel W. Thompson, as well as a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
