Warmly known by family and friends as “WD” and affectionately by grandchildren as “Gran Gran,” Mr. William Dave Leathwas born in Guilford Co, NC and lived most of his life in Burlington, NC. A master craftsman at designing and installing flooring, WD worked for Anderson and Wells Marble and Tile Company for over 25 years. For a short period of time he owned his own business, Leath’s Smoke Shop in Graham, NC. His last employment was with Graham Savings and Loan.
Even more so, WD had a huge passion for fishing, hunting, and baseball, which he shared with his buddies, with Joel, and with his grandchildren. This love for fishing in particular was then reciprocated by new friends that he met when he moved to Raleigh in 2012.
During his later years WD attended primarily two churches: Antioch Community Church in Elon, NC, while living in Burlington, then Grace Bible Fellowship in Cary, NC. William Leath personally trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior while at Grace, and Joel had the privilege of baptizing him on January 20, 2013. He was 93 years old at the time of his homegoing.
