Deacon Sterling “Squirrel” Thompson 94, of 5505 Swepsonville-Saxaphahaw Rd. transitioned while at his home on August 20, 2017.
“Squirrel” was the son of William S. Thompson and Annie Parrish Thompson Hooker, both deceased. He was married 62 years to Willie Rose White Thompson until her passing. He was preceded in death by a son Sherman Odell Thompson as well as three brothers: his twin brother Arthur Thompson, George Thompson and James Hooker. He was a proud retiree of AT&T and a member of Parrish Chapel Christian Church.
Survivors include: 6 children: Vernon Lee Thompson, Virginia T. Hester, Rachel T. Evans (Larry), Willie Rosetta Stanfield, Helen T. Jeffries (Maverick) and Clarissa T. Brooks (Timothy); 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-greatgrandchild; four siblings: Annie Bell White (LeeMearlin), Frank Hooker, Connie Hooker (Lula Jane) and Leroy Hooker; daughter-in-law: Ellarine Thompson and a brother in-law: Theodore Albright.
