Mother Shirley Brown Long, passed away on April 12, 2019 at Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Rev. Dr. Herman M. Long.

She is survived by 7 children: Ricky M. Long, Sharon D. Kelly (Andrew), Phyllis Y. Long, Stephanie L Enoch-Brown (Garlton), Herman M. Long (Francine), Marvin L. Long, Stephen M. Long (Betsy); 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
