Shayla Janelle Miles

Shayla Janelle Miles, daughter of Rochelle Miles Yellock and Harold C. Jordan was born on May 6, 1985 in Alamance County, North Carolina.  After a brief illness, she departed this life on July 12, 2019 at Duke University Medical Center.  She was a 2003 graduate of Bartlett-Yancey High School and attended Alamance Community College and Fayetteville State University.  She was a Peer Support Specialist with the Academy of Alamance, LLC.  Shayla was a natural entertainer and loved showing love to her family and friends.  She loved grilling, fishing and swimming.  She will be cherished and missed by all who knew and loved her.  

Remembering her with love and devotion are: her parents: Rochelle M. Yellock and Harold C. Jordan; two children: Robert Bobby Hammond and Robin Hammond; two siblings: James L. Yellock, Jr. and Abigail Jordan; maternal grandfather: Shirley Miles; paternal grandmother: Doretha Jordan and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends from the BY class of 2003.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother: Jeanette Miles and paternal grandfather Fred Jordan.
