Reverend Michael R. Bowden

The Reverend Michael R. Bowden, 60 of 2408 Nelson Farm Rd. passed away in his home on February 19, 2019. 

He was the son of Royzell Bowden and Norma Delois Thompson Bowden Morrow, both deceased.  He was a 1976 graduate of Ben L. Smith High School.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1980 with a degree in Education and graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1993 with a Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Supervision. He was employed with the Alamance Burlington School System and served as an Assistant Principal at Broadview Middle School.

Reverend Bowden was ordained an Itinerate Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1997 and received his Elders Orders in 1999. He has served Bailey’s Chapel, Clapp’s Chapel and Wayman Chapel A.M.E Churches. He was currently Pastor of Turners Chapel in High Point.

He is survived by three siblings: Gail Worth (Dale), Ronnie Bowden (Ida) and Minister Bonnie B. Moore.
