Nancy Carolyn (Williams) Green

            On April 29, 1943, Nancy Carolyn Williams Green was born the fifth child and third daughter of Nancy Burnett Williams and Alonzo Williams in Orange County, North Carolina.  Her family later moved to Alamance County where she resided until her death on June 8, 2019 at Duke University Medical Center.  

            Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Jordan Sellars Senior High School in Burlington, North Carolina where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class.  She attended Knoxville College and Alamance Community College.  She later received her Bachelor of Arts from Elon University in Elon, North Carolina.  She completed the necessary course work towards obtaining her Funeral Director’s licensure.  

            In 1963, Carolyn met and married Lee Odis Green. This marriage produced two sons, Jerron Denard and Clifton Douglas.  She retired from Lucent Technologies, formerly Western Electric and AT&T. 

            Carolyn was an active member of First Baptist Church of Apple Street, Burlington. She was a member of the Kitchen Committee, Usher Board, Sister to Sister Ministry, Youth Day & Youth Revival Committee, Tape/Outreach Committee and the Long-Range Planning Committee.  Her parents: Mr. Alonzo & Mrs. Nancy Burnett Williams, her husband Lee Odis Green and sister Georgia Williams Wilson all preceded her in death.  

            In addition to her sons: Ron and his wife Chevela and Doug, she is survived by five grandchildren: Kaelyn Adia Green, Emanuel Green, Camille Green, Taylor Green and Joshua Green; two sisters: Shirley W. Dixon and Doris Jeffers (Alvin); two brothers: Tony Williams and Harold D. Williams (Marilyn); God-Children: Jamie Johnson and Reginald Gwynn as well as host of nieces & nephews other relatives and dear friends.
