John Daniel Teel

Mr.  John Daniel Teel age 99 of 1221 Avondale Dr. transitioned on October 12, 2019 at White Oak Manor.  Mr. Teel was the son of Mr. Charlie Teel and Mrs. Callie Sellars Teel both deceased. He was married for 73 years to the love of his life, Mrs. Lucille Matkins Teel now deceased.

Mr. Teel worked for Associate Transport for over 20 years and was the owner and operator of Teel’s A-1 Tailoring and Alterations.  He was a member at Union Chapel UCC, where he served faithfully, when his health permitted as a Trustee, Deacon and in the Male Chorus.

Mr. Teel was preceded in death by two children, Infant Mary Elizabeth Teel, and his daughter, Evelyn T. Miles; siblings, Walter Teel, Ida T. Warren, Myrtle T. Jones, Rose T. Evans, and Savannah T. Florence.

His life and legacy will be forever cherished by his daughters, June T. Blackwell, Shirley T. Yarborough, Connie T. Johnson (Rev. Thomas) and Pamela T. Wright (Edwin); 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 5 siblings, Harry Teel (Agnes), Gary Teel, Elizabeth Pinnix, Frances Evans and Ruth Mae Harris; son-in-law, Adolphus Miles.
