Mr. John Walter Jacob Smith, 86, transitioned from this life on August 8, 2017 at Cone Health-Alamance Regional Medical Center.

 He was born to the late Fred Smith and Louanna Vanhook Smith.  He was a self-employed Professional Truck Driver and a decorated Korean War Veteran. 

Survivors include his wife: Mary Cheeley Smith; daughters: Lisa R. Brown (Keith) and Linda R. Smith and three grandchildren: Sterling Brown, Sierra Brown and Sydney Smith.
