Mr. James Donald “Donald Duck” Long, age 78 of 1818 Wellington Rd. Transitioned on April 13, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Long is the son of the late Mr. John Harden Long and Mrs. Luna Graves Long.
James was born January 1, 1940 in Alamance County to Mr. John Harden Long and Mrs. Luna Graves Long both deceased.
Being a provider for his family and their needs, after 35 years of service, he retired from Glen Raven Mills. He was a former member of Augusta’s Lodge #642 PHA, James T. Diggs Consistory AASRFM #308 James T. Diggs Consistory, Holy Royal Arch Masons and the AEAONMS of North and South America #97 El Jebel Temple. He was a natural handy man, who would more than likely tear things up. He was a better quilter than his loving wife and he loved cooking and baking. Last but not least, he had his own unique way with words to say the least.
His life and legacy will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Mrs. Glenda Faye Pulliam Long, his two sons, Donald Long and Algin Long; four daughters, Delinda L. Baldwin (Jerry), Pamela P. Bailey (Durand), Carla P. Foust (Chris) and Tukellya “Kelly” Long. One sister, Dorothy L. Wilson (Rufus); 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by siblings, Kirk Long, John Long, Frank Long, Harden Long, Jr., George Long, Earl Long and Rebecca Bigelow.
