Georgia Lee (Miles) Parker

Mrs. Georgia Lee Miles Parker, 74 of 3522 Corbett Rd. transitioned on July 12, 2018 at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospitals.  

She was the daughter of Willie Frank Miles and Mary Eliza Jones Miles, both deceased and the wife of Mr. Clay Parker, Jr. also deceased.  She was a 1961 graduate of Pleasant Grove Union High School and a member of Martin’s Chapel Baptist Church where she diligently served with the Missionary Ministry, Ushers Ministry, Senior Choir and as an advisor for the Youth Department.   

Survivors include: Connie P. Curry (Leon), Avery Parker, Carl Parker, Sr. (Lela) and Carlo Parker; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Logan Miles (Minnie), Walter Miles, Alease Anderson, Lottie Torain, Mammie McCandies and Ophelia Currie; an aunt: Lessie Mae Graves; mother-in-law: Wythene C. Parker as well as many dear nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends. 

She was preceded in death by a son Clay Parker III and siblings: James Miles, Hampton Miles and Rev. Charlie Miles, Jocelyn Miles and Fannie Satterfield.
