Etheleen Graves Warren lovely called “Ethel” by family and friends was born June 15, 1929 in Yanceyville, Caswell County to the late Mr. Jim Preston and Mrs. Millie Sellars Graves. Etheleen was called to be with the Lord July 8, 2017 while at Alamance County Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina.

Etheleen was a loving wife, mother, friend and hard worker. She worked at Alamance Laundry, Kaiser-Roth Hosiery Mill and as a domestic home worker but her greatest accomplishment was raising her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially shopping and swapping stories with her grandchildren and sister, Addie Mae Graves. Before her illness, she was active at Union Ridge United Church of Christ where she was member of the Usher Board, Missionary Circle and the Pastor’s Aide.

Etheleen will be forever missed by her family: husband, Robert Lee Warren of 53 years, daughters; Glenda Fowler Carter (Clif) of Sterling, Virginia; Dessolene Warren Davis (Darius) of Odenton, Maryland and Toni Vanessa Warren (Shelton) of Burlington, North Carolina, grandchildren: Dawn Kathleen Davis, Kirstie Leigh Miles, Chelsea Carter, Dresden Elaine Davis, Derek Warren Davis, and Trey Shelton Miles; a sister, Addie Mae Graves and a host of loving nieces and nephews. We especially thank Kim & Carolyn Miles for all of their assistance.   

She now joins her parents and sisters, Hattie Shipman and Elizabeth Upsher and brothers, William, George, Jim, Herman and James preceded her in death.
