Charlie Hobbs was born on January 5, 1936 to the late Calvin and Mollie Woodard Hobbs in Greene County, North Carolina. Charlie entered eternal rest on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell in Burlington, North Carolina.

He attended Greene County Public Schools. Charlie served in the US Air force as a Cryptographic Operator.  He was united in marriage on August 26, 1955 to Catherine Suggs and to this union, three children were born, Judy, Douglas and Ronnie.

After returning to North Carolina from New Jersey, Charlie joined Kimes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Trustee while his health permitted. He loved his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, L.D. Hobbs, Frank Hobbs, Toney Hobbs, Elgin Hobbs and Cleotis Hobbs and three sisters, Minnie Brown, Sarah Fleming and Mollie Howell.

Charlie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mrs. Catherine Hobbs; one daughter, Mrs. Judy McAdoo (Donald) of Efland, NC; two sons, Mr. Douglas Lee Hobbs and Mr. Ronnie E. Hobbs, both of Mebane, NC; one granddaughter, Ms. Kaylah McAdoo, of Efland NC; one sister, Ms. Deloris Hobbs, of Newark, NJ; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Hobbs, of Fayetteville, NC; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
