Bobby Garrison was born March 15, 1935 to the late Elbert and Mary Jane Garrison. He entered peacefully into his eternal home on December 13, 2018 where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was married to his loving wife Emma Jean Holt Garrison for 61 years. During that 61 years of marriage Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Bobby enjoyed fishing, cooking, making people laugh, and serving the Lord. He served his church Mack’s Chapel UHC in many ways over the years. He became the Head Deacon for the church, and he also helped with the building of the fellowship hall. Bobby was a faithful member until his failing health prevented him from attending services. Bobby may not have been there in body but always in spirit.
He worked at Cannon Mills, Holt Lumber Company, and started his own business, Garrison’s Garage where he served his community for over 30 years. During his time Bobby would be considered a jack-of-all trades. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memories, wife Emma Jean of the home, one son Terry (Laura) of Burlington, two daughters; Tammy Garrison of Burlington and Cassandra Garrison of Burlington, two sisters; Doris Jean Clapp of Glenn Raven and Patricia (Monroe) Miles of Burlington, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews and five great-nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by one brother Odell “Pap” Garrison, two sisters: Thelma Troxler and Blanche Garrison and a life-long friend Rev. Josiah Cecil Cheek.
