Birtie Bell (Daye) Slade

Mrs. Birtie Bell Daye Slade age 87 of 1404 Vaughn Rd. Burlington transitioned on Nov. 23, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Slade was the daughter of Mr. Ira “Jim” Miles and Mrs. Pearl Daye Mebane Wagstaff both deceased.  She was married to the late Mr. Thomas William Slade.

Birtie was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and worked for over 20 years at Copeland Fabrics.  Birtie loved to dance and socialize, she was a joy to be around and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her children, Mary Torain, Cecilia Alston, Wanda Summers and Joan Marie Stevens (Leroy), Darin Slade, Donald Slade, Letarrio Yarbor and Detarrio Yarbor.  Two grandchildren that were caregivers, Lisa McAdoo and Keith McAdoo; two sisters, Linda Graves (JD) and Valentina Mebane and a host of grand, great-grand and great- great grandchildren.

Mrs. Slade was preceded in death by four sons, Terry Slade, Leonard Slade, Mark Slade and Marvin Slade and one sister, Mae Thenia Mebane
