Mrs. Sarah Frances Alston Ford Johnson was born on June 11, 1941 in Washington, DC to the late Josie McKissic Alston and the late Rufus Alston.

Frances as she was affectionately called by her family transitioned on July 4, 2017 while being cared for at the Hospice Home of Alamance- Caswell.

She was a graduate of the 1957 class of Cardoza High School in Washington D.C. after high school, she attended Prince George Community College of D.C.  Frances was gainfully employed in the Dermatology Dept. of the University of Health Sciences in Bethesada, MD.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Sterling Johnson, and her two sons Darrel Ford and Chester Ford. A sister Annie Ware Cumble, two brothers Eugene Ware and Leroy Ware.

She leaves to Cherish her memory her sister, Rose Ware Flower of Burlington, NC, Sister Florence Ware Dabney and one Brother Tommie Ware both of Washington D.C., a step-daughter Slertina Johnson Ballard, one grandson Dayvon Stewart and four step-grandchildren of Maryland. A special cousin Larry Alston and a host of other relatives and friends.
