Pearl Elizabeth Clinkscales Lee entered this earthly life on May 2, 1929 to Louie Clinkscales, Sr. and Lillian Campbell Clinkscales in Greenville, South Carolina.  Following several years of deteriorating health, she exchanged time for eternity on December 14, 2017.  

Pearl attended Winston Salem Teacher's College (now Winston-Salem State University) and was a part of the first line of the schools chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  After completing her undergraduate degree she began a fruitful career as an Educator.  Always thriving for more knowledge, she attended Columbia University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, obtaining Master's Degrees in Education and Speech Pathology, respectively.  Even in her retirement she continued to work.  She found a new passion at the Technical College of Alamance (now Alamance Community College) as the Chief General Education Diploma (GED) Examiner as well as the Coordinator of the ACC Learning Lab.  Her knowledge and skills her were unmatched and her presence will be sorely missed. 

Spiritually, Pearl was a member early in life of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Upon moving to Burlington, North Carolina she united with Ebenezer United Church of Christ.  Her voice was angelic and could be heard with the Senior Choir and her musical acumen was instrumental in directing the choir as well.  She was also a member of the Gray Tones. 

Survivors include two daughters: Bettina Lee and Tammy Lee; a son whom she reared: Ronald Woodruff; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; her brother: Louie Clinkscales, Jr. and many nieces, nephews, relatives, WSSU Alumni, Sorors and dear friends.
