Ethel LaVorn Miles was born January 1, 1924 in Alamance County.  She was the daughter of the late Rev. Floyd Miles and the late Mary Ellen Turner Miles.  She departed this earthly life on July 28, 2017.

She was the granddaughter of Edd W. Turner.  Ethel was married to the late Willie Smith and was a 1943 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School.  She was a lifelong member of Union Chapel United Church of Christ.

Her survivors include her brother Coy Miles; sister and brother in law: Mary Miles & Howard Vaughn along with many devoted cousins, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by siblings: Rev. Augusta Miles, Clarence Miles, Sarah Godfrey, Pauline Grace Alston and Josephine Vaughn.
