Deacon Eugene Crompton, 91 of 431 Hatch St. transitioned on Sunday, February 11, 2018.
He was born the son of Garfield Crompton and Attrice Shoffner Crompton and was the husband of Katherine Tinnin Crompton, all deceased. He was owner and operator of Eugene Crompton Plumbing, LLC. He was a member and Deacon of Maple Grove Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his daughters: Jean C. Tate, Judy C. Burnette (Waldo) and Janice C. McDowell (Rev. Edward); 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Hazel Crompton, Robert L. Crompton (Debra) and Verna C. Parker.
He was preceded in death by his son: Jeffery Crompton and siblings: James H. Crompton and Betty L. Morrow.
