As the sun set on the evening of November 28, 2016 God saw it time for one of his faithful servants to come home. So he dispatched his angels of mercy and grace to receive the sainted soul of Mother Bessie Mae Ferguson Richards. She entered the world on Saturday, December 28, 1929 in Alamance County, North Carolina to the late Mr. Calvester Ferguson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Vella Griffin Ferguson. She was married to the late Mr. John W. Richards and the two shared an inseparable love until his passing in 2010.
Mother Bessie was a lifelong resident of Alamance County graduating from Jordan-Sellars High School and furthering her education in nursing at the Technical Institute of Alamance. Working in the area of home health care was a perfect fit for her life of Christian ministry. She truly enjoyed caring for others. She was a true Christian disciple and she made or calling and election sure each Sunday as she ventured to services at her beloved Morning Star Baptist Church. She gave Godly advice as a Mother of the Church and assisted to the needs of others as a dedicated missionary. We will miss her presence, however we know like we are she once was and as she is, we shall become.
Remembering her with love and devotion are: William W. Richards; 3 grandchildren: Jasmine Woodard, Lolita Jackson; a great-grandson: Zaiden Woodard; brother: Fred Garrison; a dear devoted friend and caregiver: Ann Faucette and many other dear nieces, nephews other relatives, church family and friends.
She now joins her parents and loving husband Johnny along with a grandson Tyrell Wheeler and siblings: William Ferguson, Calvester Ferguson, Jr., Lillie Bell Ferguson and Jean Carol Smith...what a glorious reunion.
