Bennie Lee Hill was born on December 22, 1941 in Jeffersonville, Georgia as the third child of the late Arthur Hill and the late Rosebud Wall Hill.  After a courageous battle with illness, he closed his eyes to this world and opened them to the realms of heaven on Sunday morning January 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Seeking better advancements in life, he left rural Jeffersonville and ventured to New York.  He enjoyed his new location and began working diligently.  One day he met a beautiful and loving lady, Amelia Cox.  After a courtship, the two were joined as one and were blessed with the birth of their son, Darrell Ray.  Bennie was truly a devoted husband and father.  Always wanting to better for his family, they relocated to Virginia where he was a Certified Crane Operator with Building Specialties in Manassas, Virginia. After retirement, he and his beloved Amelia moved to Graham, North Carolina to enjoy the autumn of their lives.

Bennie wanted to be the best in all areas he could be.  He was a believer in Christ for years so when they relocated to Graham, he and Amelia joined New Covenant United Holy Church.  He was a faithful member and served diligently with the Ushers Ministry.  He was a true Christian disciple always serving others.  Outside of accepting Christ, Bennie, earned his General Education Diploma (GED) from Alamance Community College. This was one of his proudest moments.    He loved fishing and taking trips with loving wife, family and friends.

To remember him with love are: his wife Amelia Cox Hill of home; their son: Darrell Ray Hill (Melissa) of Radcliff, Kentucky; grandson: Michael Ray Hill of Hagerstown, Maryland; 5 siblings Shirley Hudgins, William Hill, Willie Hill (Geraldine), Lorenza Hill and Bernard Hill; sisters and brother in law: Ruth Cox, Mable Cox, Barbara Jones and Milton Cox; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends and his Kingston Village Family.

He now joins his parents, a brother and three sisters…what a glorious reunion.
